My God, My Strength, Psalm 18: 2,3

  I had been saved ten years when I took these words from scripture, and put them to music written by my daughter, Dana. That was the beginning of my writing songs for my Lord, and for his glory. Whenever I start to wonder why I keep writing songs and lyrics that may never be heard or sung by anyone outside my home, God reminds me that he hears them, and that’s all that really matters. They are, after all, written for him.

The Lord is my rock; he is my shield
my God, my strength.
The Lord is my light, my salvation.
Whom shall i fear?
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised.
Early will I seek him, and he will hear.
~
In him we have redemption;
forgiveness of our sins,
for he shed his blood on Calvary,
that we might live through him.
He has sent his Holy Spirit to guide us every day,
and his word abides forever, and lights for us the way.
~
I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me,
my God, my strength.
He is always there to guide me, if I will turn to him.
And I thank him and I praise him, for all that he has done.
Jesus is my Saviour; he took my sin.
~
In him we have redemption;
forgiveness of our sins,
for he shed his blood on Calvary,
that we might live through him.
He has sent his Holy Spirit to guide us every day,
and his word abides forever, his word abides forever,
his word abides forever, and lights for us the way.
