When I think of all that God has given, my heart is filled with praise,
for my precious Lord and Saviour, and his patient loving ways,
and for all his earthly blessings; for my family, health, and friends.
But in spite of all life’s pleasures, I won’t miss it when it ends.
~
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.
He may call me with the trumpet or just whisper, “It’s time to go.”
No matter how, or when, I won’t miss this world I know.
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.

When I think of all my Lord has waiting, I just have to sing his praise,
for the mansion Jesus promised, when I’ve lived out all my days,
and for all the glorious blessings we will share eternally.
But of all of heaven’s treasures, it’s my Lord I long to see.
~
Yes, when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.
He may call me with the trumpet or just whisper, “It’s time to go.”
No matter how, or when, I won’t miss this world I know.
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.

When my Saviour calls, I'll be going home.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

None of us know when Jesus will call us home. We hope for the day when he will call all the saints home with the sound of the trumpet, but for many of us, he will simply whisper, and tell us it’s time for us to come home. But no matter how or when he calls us, when we reach the end of our journey, Jesus will be there to welcome us home. Even so, Come Lord Jesus.
He showed us that we should rejoice:
ReplyDeleteYe have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
(John 14:28 KJV)
This is one of those songs that make you want to shout "Hallelujah!" :)
