Don't Look Back

(stop when song ends)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My heart was overwhelmed by the times I’d compromised.
Past mistakes and failures were all there before my eyes.
How could my Saviour use me? I’d wasted so much time.
As I bowed my head in sorrow,
I heard a still small voice reply,
~
“Don’t look back, the past is past;
put your hand to the plow.
Today you can move forward,
if you’ll trust me and serve me now.
Don’t look back, just run the race,
and press on toward the mark.
Lay aside every sin and weight;
just trust me with all your heart.
~
If you’re longing to be free from the cords of sin that bind,
You can have forgiveness; don’t believe the devil’s lies.
The Lord still wants to use you, so now redeem the time.
If you’ll bow your head, repenting,
I know a still small voice will guide.
~
“Don’t look back, the past is past;
Put your hand to the plow.
Today you can move forward,
if you'll trust me and serve me now.
Don't look back, just run the race,
and press on toward the mark.
Lay aside every sin and weight;
just trust me with all your heart.”
Don't Look Back
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There have been times in my life when I felt that I had failed my Lord and Saviour; that I had spent so much time putting my own desires ahead of His, that it was too late to make up for lost time....that He could never use me. But it's never too late, to turn back to the Lord. God has a plan for each one of us, and even though we may take detours, and get off the path he has set before us, there is always a way back....and the moment I bow my head in repentance, the Lord takes my hand and leads the way. The rest of the road may be different from what the Lord had originally planned, but the same God who made a way in the wilderness is able to once again lead me beside still waters and through green pastures. I am so thankful that with the rising of the sun each new day, my Lord and Saviour gives me a fresh start, and an opportunity to serve him.

That fresh start is there for you too. "Don't look back, the past is past, today you can move forward if you'll trust me and serve me now."

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
