Why don’t you look for that silver lining

In the cloud that’s overhead?

Thank God for the raindrops falling,

sunny days are still ahead.

When someone asks, “How are you this morning?”

just forget about your aches.

Thank God for the day he’s given,

and praise him for his grace!

In everything give thanks.

Sing God’s praises every day.

Everywhere, look for God’s goodness.

Tell everyone he’s the only way.

Then you’ll find that silver lining,

and sweet roses along the way.

And when you find thorns among the roses,

don’t complain that life’s unfair.

Thank God for the flowers blooming,

smell the scent that fills the air.

In everything give thanks.
