When temptations come, and I’m bowed down so low;
when my doubts arise and I’m tossed to and fro,
~
I’ll count it all joy, stand firm in the faith.
I’ll look to the Lord for a way of escape.
He gives me wisdom and strength to obey,
when I count it all joy, and patiently wait.
~
When the world says come, and my flesh is enticed;
when I’m drawn away by the sins of this life,
~
I’ll count it all joy, stand firm in the faith.
I’ll look to the Lord for a way of escape.
He gives me wisdom and strength to obey,
when I count it all joy, and patiently wait.
~
When I face attacks for my faith in the Lord,
then I think of Jesus and how he was scorned.
~
I’ll count it all joy, stand firm in the faith.
I’ll look to the Lord for a way of escape.
He gives me wisdom and strength to obey,
when I count it all joy, and patiently wait.
~
When I trust my Lord every step that I take,
then he gives me grace for each trial I face.
~
I’ll count it all joy, stand firm in the faith.
I’ll look to the Lord for a way of escape.
He gives me wisdom and strength to obey,
when I count it all joy, and patiently wait.
~
Count it all joy!

James 1:2,3 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.
1 Corinthians 16;13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There is no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I'll Be Going Home

When My Saviour Calls

When I think of all that God has given,  my heart is filled with praise,
for my precious Lord and Saviour, and his patient loving ways,
and for all his earthly blessings; for my family, health, and friends.
But in spite of all life’s pleasures, I won’t miss it when it ends.
~
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.
He may call me with the trumpet or just whisper, “It’s time to go.”
No matter how, or when, I won’t miss this world I know.
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.

~short interlude~
~~~
When I think of all my Lord has waiting, I just have to sing his praise,
for the mansion Jesus promised, when I’ve lived out all my days,
and for all the glorious blessings we will share eternally.
But of all of heaven’s treasures, it’s my Lord I long to see.
~
Yes, when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.
He may call me with the trumpet or just whisper, “It’s time to go.”
No matter how, or when, I won’t miss this world I know.
‘Cause when my Saviour calls, I’ll be going home.
~
When my Saviour calls, I'll be going home.
Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints
None of us know when Jesus will call us home. We hope for the day when he will call all the saints home with the sound of the trumpet, but for many of us, he will simply whisper, and tell us it’s time for us to come home. But no matter how or when he calls us, when we reach the end of our journey, Jesus will be there to welcome us home. Even so, Come Lord Jesus.
Traditions Slideshow
All the snow we're getting here has me thinking of Christmas, so today I decided to put together a slideshow to go with my song, Traditions. I hope you enjoy it!
Hanging up the sparkling lights around our manger scene,
to show the birth of Jesus is what Christmas truly means,
was our tradition every year, to give God all the glory.
Songs of Jesus coming retold the Christmas story.
~
Gingerbread and candy canes,
cookies baked to give away,
singing carols, Christmas plays,
gifts and going to Grandma’s place;
while some traditions come and go, others we hold dear.
We cherish all the memories we’ve created through the years.
~
Mom was always first to wake, but soon the kids would rouse.
We’d snuggle under blankets, as we gathered all around.
This one tradition never changed, for every Christmas morning,
Dad would take his Bible, and read the Christmas story.
Why Trouble The Master?
Jairus daughter lay dying, but Jesus was near.
Jairus sought out the Lord for his loved one so dear.
But before the journey ended his daughter had died;
the crowd now grew restless, and someone soon cried,
"Why trouble the master? Your daughter is gone.
There is no more hope here, for she has passed on.
~
Why trouble the Master? The Lord alone heals!
Why trouble the Master? He brings hope and new zeal!
Why trouble the Master? His love never fails!
Why trouble the master? Because Jesus cares!
~
Why trouble the master, the Savious of men?
When it seems all is lost, marred and scarred by sin,
Jesus offers new beginnings, forgiveness and grace.
Jesus loves you so much, He died in your place.
A fountain for cleansing and power from on high;
a reason to live; hear the Master's cry.
~
Why trouble the Master? The Lord alone heals!
Why trouble the Master? He brings hope and new zeal!
Why trouble the Master? His love never fails!
Why trouble the master? Because Jesus cares!
~
Why trouble the Master, the healer of men?
He alone can heal, bring to life again.
Just reach out now in faith and He'll make you whole.
Oh the Master will quench the thirst in your soul.
He mends broken hearts, restores broken homes.
With Jesus nearby you are never alone.
~
Why trouble the Master? The Lord alone heals!
Why trouble the Master? He brings hope and new zeal!
Why trouble the Master? His love never fails!
Why trouble the master? Because Jesus cares!
~
Why trouble the Master, creator of all?
Because he loves you; listen to his call.
Jesus knows all things and he is still in control.
He is always at work, guarding your soul.
He sets captives free from their darkness and strife.
Jesus calms every storm, and brings peace in your life.
~
Why trouble the Master? The Lord alone heals!
Why trouble the Master? He brings hope and new zeal!
Why trouble the Master? His love never fails!
Why trouble the master? Because Jesus cares!
~
When you trouble the Master the whole world stops and stares!
Mark 5:22-24 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
Mark 5:35-42 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
This song came about when Jerry Bouey sent me a poem he had written, and asked if I could put it to music for him.  I made a few changes for the lyric to flow from verse to verse, and I used the final stanza to create a chorus, but I stayed as closely as possible to the original. To read Bro. Jerry's original lyric, go to Why Trouble the Master?
